judicial procedure in ancient elam: two old elamite trial documents, with edition and translation

elamite documents, and evidence of elamite writing in general, are rare from this period. however from susa under the sukkalmah period, there are some 550 legal documents in akkadian in various legal subjects, like sale, lease, and judicial procedures; this provides the historian with a unique opportunity fir the study of elamite legal and social institutions. the present essay will edit and translate two trial documents from the sukkalmah period and analyses their textual content. initially we will explain the classification of the elamite history for the sake of providing context. then the significance of the akkadian documents of susa will be pointed out and finally the two trial text will be studied from the view point of content and form.  as there is no english translation available we have added the english version as well.
